The 12th China International Pharmaceutical Industry Exhibition (CHINA-PHARM), co-organized by China Center for Pharmaceutical International Exchange and Messe Düsseldorf China Ltd., will be held in Shanghai New International Expo Centre from Oct. 29 to 31, 2007.

CHINA-PHARM, which has been successfully held for 11 editions, will see an increase in both exhibition area and number of exhibitors. It boasts an exhibition area of 22,000 sqm, and attracts total 403 exhibitors from home and abroad. Meanwhile, CHINA-PHARM 2007 has also received strong support from influential international partners, such as International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering, International Pharmaceutical Excipients Council, the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), Italian Association of Automatic Packaging and Packaging Machinery Manufacturers (UCIMA) and the Processing & Packaging Machinery Association (PPMA). CHINA-PHARM is the only UFI-approved pharmaceutical event in China.

CHINA-PHARM covers a wide range of products, including processing and packaging machinery, membrane and water treatment, medical packaging materials, cleaning equipment and technology, plant automation and process automation, bio-pharmaceutical and bio-engineering technology, chemical industry, lab analysis apparatus, cosmetic processing and packaging equipment, etc. Furthermore, special zones are set up for medical packaging materials and pharmaceutical excipients as well as for anti-aging products. Medical and pharmaceutical businesses will surely acquire more industrial information through this one-stop platform.

Organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology of VDMA, the German  Pavilion has attracted more German enterprises to showcase their latest technologies and equipment. The Pavilion will show up in a new way of “see it all”, trying to bring every new product to the sight of the buyers, along with an audience lucky draw to heat the atmosphere onsite. Companies home and abroad regard it as a golden opportunity to introduce their advanced equipment and technologies. Bosch Packaging, SinoMach, GEA Tuchenhagen, BD Medical, Campak, Eisai, Rommelag, Canaan, Yali, Gylongli, Chutian, XINXUFA, Chinasun and Lattine, etc., are presented with large exhibition areas, and are looking for in-depth exchanges with buyers.

The high-tech show has also attracted the attraction of a great many trade visitors from other Asian countries and regions. Medical and pharmaceutical associations of countries in East Asia, South-East Asia and Mid-Asia will organize professional buyer delegations to Shanghai. Meanwhile, domestic buyers, especially those from Jiangsu and Zhejiang Provinces, are expecting to purchase more advanced equipments, learn about the latest pharmaceutical technologies, and communicate with industry players. The organizers have specially invited more than 1,000 VIP visitors, including enterprise leaders, technological directors, equipment dept heads, etc., and have exclusively designed VIP Zone, where exhibitors could hold face-to-face talks with VIP visitors in an excellent environment.

CHINA-PHARM Forum will be kicked off one day before the opening of the event. The top-level and all-inclusive concurrent activities, including China GMP Forum, Pharmaceutical Excipient GMP Conference, Pharmaceutical Packaging Material New Technology Forum, International Academic Conference on Key Procedures and Trend of Medicine Development, and Annual Anti-Aging Congress and Exposition, will become new highlights of the event. At the four-day forum, experts from International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering, International Pharmaceutical Excipients Council and International Council on Active Aging and USA FDA officials will give key-note speeches and lectures. “Drug GMP Inspection Evaluation Standard Conference” will also be held by State Food and Drug Administration in parallel with the event. What’s more, exhibitors will also hold a good number of technical seminars onsite, which provides more value-added options for visitors.
